Cat purrs to animal hero Dr. Sam Vaughn of Veterinary Associates Stonefield! He performed emergency surgery over the weekend on KHS alumnus Charlie. Dr. Vaughn had thought Charlie had asthma and suggested an x-ray. To his surprise he found Charlie had a foreign object in his stomach: he had ingested speaker wires. Dr. Vaughn felt Charlie was in need of emergency surgery, but his owner could not afford it. Dr. Vaughn generously volunteered to perform the surgery at no cost. With the wires removed, Charlie is now purring for the first time! Thank you, Dr. Vaughn, and to the entire team at Stonefield. You are an inspiration to all of us in animal welfare!
